Step by Step, Together: The 224th Air Defense Group Steps Up for Su***de Prevention 👟🎗️

September is National Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, and members of the 224th Air Defense Group laced up their sneakers to show that no one has to walk (or run) their path alone!

Group runs and walks like this are about more than just physical fitness—they are about building unit cohesion, strengthening connections, and breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health. Every step taken represents our commitment to look out for our wingmen, check in on one another, and foster a culture of support.

Taking care of our mental health is a team sport. Whether you build a physical Hope Box, reach out to a buddy, or participate in unit events, your active involvement helps save lives.

If you or a loved one is going through a tough time, please remember that confidential support is available 24/7/365:
📞 Dial 988, then Press 1 for the Military & Veterans Crisis Line (or text 838255).
💬 Reach out to your local chaplain, director of psychological health, or leadership team.

Today, the members of the Eastern Air Defense Sector (EADS) joined together with our local community partners, alumni members, neighbors, and families to honor the victims, the survivors, and the heroic first responders of September 11, 2001.

Twenty-five years ago, EADS (then NEADS) was on the front lines of the air defense response on that fateful morning. Today, standing side-by-side with the community we are sworn to protect, we carry that legacy forward with solemn pride. We will never forget the lives lost, the sacrifices made, and the shared resilience that keeps us strong.
