It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of DC Brent Swisher. ❤️

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and serving alongside him during this difficult time. The emergency services community is a family, and the loss of one of our own is felt deeply.

May he rest in peace, and may his loved ones find comfort in the memories, love, and legacy he leaves behind.

Rest easy, DC Swisher. You will not be forgotten. 🕊️

🚑 Expanding Knowledge. Embracing Innovation. Strengthening Patient Care.

Five providers from Hampshire County Emergency Services Agency recently traveled to Orlando, Florida, to attend EMS World 2026, joining thousands of EMS professionals from across the globe for an incredible opportunity to learn, collaborate, and explore the future of emergency medical services.

During the conference, our team took part in a variety of continuing education opportunities, with topics ranging from critical care and advanced clinical paramedicine to leadership, management, provider wellness, education, and EMS operations.

The experience extended well beyond the classroom. Our providers had the opportunity to interact with industry experts, explore cutting-edge medical equipment, experience emerging technologies firsthand, and learn how artificial intelligence and other innovations may influence the way emergency medical services are delivered in the years ahead.

Professional development is an important part of providing high-quality emergency medical care. Staying informed about advancements in medicine, technology, and operational practices allows us to continually evaluate how we serve our patients and improve the care we provide.

We are proud to have had these members of our team represent HCESA at this event. The knowledge, experiences, and connections they gained will help strengthen our agency and support our continued commitment to the community.

Because exceptional patient care starts with providers who never stop learning. 🚑

Today marked the completion of our Field Training and Evaluation Program (FTEP) course at Hampshire County Emergency Services Agency.

A strong Field Training Program is one of the most important investments an EMS agency can make. It provides a structured, standardized process for developing new providers while ensuring consistent expectations, objective evaluations, and quality patient care. The EMS-FTEP model is widely recognized as the gold standard for onboarding EMTs and Paramedics in the field.

Congratulations to everyone who dedicated their time and effort throughout the course. Your commitment to mentoring the next generation of EMS professionals will have a lasting impact on our agency and the communities we serve.

A special thank you to our instructors for sharing their knowledge, experience, and passion for developing future Field Training Officers.

Training never stops. Excellence is built one provider at a time. 🚑👏
