On Saturday morning both Utility 48-1 and 48-2 headed to Chick-Fil-A on Lincoln Hwy. to meet with families about fire prevention. We were able to hand out some activity books to the kids and checklists of numbers useful to the adults for different situations.

Thank you to Chick-Fil-A for the coffees and meals provided!

🍁Yesterday's weather couldn't of been more perfect for the Fall Festival held by East Lampeter Township at the East Lampeter Township park. Many families came to enjoy Fall activities for the kids and visit with us!

We would like to thank Stations 47 (Paradise) and 39 ( Garden Spot) for bringing their boats to our Township Training. They reviewed what our jobs are when they arrive at a water rescue.

The weather could not of been any better yesterday for our annual Fire Company Family Picnic. It was nice time to spend time with all of the families enjoying a meal, playing pickleball, and activities for the kids. We appreciate and thank those in the community that contributed food and prepared the food for us. Special thanks go to local businesses for their contributions: Smokers Butchering for the meat, Dave Beiler for the homemade ice cream, Smoketown Bakery for the whoopie pies, and Kauffman's for the apple c***r!

A cake presentation was made to Chief 48 for his 55 active years in the fire company and many more before that helping from the age of 5! A special shout-out goes to the wife of one of our members who made the personalized cake....a replica of Rescue 48.

Over the weekend Station 48 handled 8 calls. We assisted Station 62 with a commerial building fire, fire alarm, and the rest were due to storm damage. As the week progresses with power still out all over the Township, please use caution at intersections with traffic lights not working- they are a 4 way stop!

This evening East Lampeter Township held a 250th celebration of the United States at Flory Park. This celebration also honored all of the volunteer fire companies, but especially those who have served 35+ years. Those members received a certificate and also a celebratory challenge coin. We congratulate our 7 members who have reached this milestone:

While this celebration was taking place, other members conducted in-house training consisting of air packs, hose advancement, and working with the SKID unit on Utility 1 as it is very dry out and we have already extinguished 1 field fire this summer.

We would like to congratulate the members of the 3 other Township companies who also have served 35+ years. It was nice to see the past experienced members again!
