PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Rosebud Sioux Tribe Hazard Mitigation Plan Update

The Rosebud Sioux Tribe is beginning the process of updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan. The plan helps identify natural hazards affecting our communities and establishes actions that can reduce future risks to lives, property, infrastructure, and Tribal resources.

Natural hazards affecting the Rosebud Sioux Reservation may include blizzards and severe winter storms, tornadoes, flooding, severe thunderstorms, high winds, drought, wildfire, and other natural hazards.

Community input is an important part of this process. Tribal members, community residents, Tribal programs, partner agencies, and other interested individuals are encouraged to participate.

The meeting will include a discussion of hazard mitigation, a review of the Tribe’s current Hazard Mitigation Plan, and information about the planning process moving forward.
