October is National Principals Month, and we want to take a moment to thank the principals and vice principals who lead our schools!

Being a school leader means wearing a lot of hats. On any given day, they're supporting teachers, encouraging students, connecting with families, solving problems and making countless decisions that help keep our schools running.

It's a big responsibility, and one that requires a great deal of patience, compassion and heart.

We're fortunate to have school leaders who genuinely care about the people they serve and take pride in making their schools the best they can be.

To all of our principals and vice principals, thank you for the time, energy and care you give to our students, staff and families every day. We appreciate you!

Our hearts are with the Bend community this evening. As an agency and community that have experienced a similar tragedy, we stand in solidarity with the victims and their families, community members, first responders, and all those impacted by today’s incident at Silver Rail Elementary.

Sheriff Hanlin is currently in Bend to offer support to the responding law enforcement agencies.

Please join us in keeping the Bend community in your thoughts and prayers during this extraordinarily difficult time.
