🧪 Plebe Chem Class=Moto! Great to be back in the lab and fantastic to join Prof. Elizabeth Yates’s & Professor Joi Walker’s Plebe chemistry class, observing titration at its finest!

Titration is more than just a chemistry lesson, it’s a practical skill with direct applications in the Fleet, from monitoring water quality in boiler steam systems to making informed decisions based on precise measurements. These are the fundamentals that underpin operational readiness: technical expertise, attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to make sound decisions when it matters most.

Warfighting readiness starts in the classroom and lab. We are fortunate to have world-class faculty preparing our future Navy and Marine Corps officers to translate rigorous academics into real-world performance across the fleet. 🇺🇸⚓️

We recently had the opportunity to welcome Lieutenant General Michael Borgschulte, USNA Superintendent; United States Naval Academy, to Air Force CyberWorx.

Visits like this are a valuable reminder that the challenges facing our military do not stop at the boundaries of a service branch. Sharing perspectives, learning from one another, and building relationships across the Department of War help us approach those challenges with a broader understanding of what our warfighters need.

We’re grateful for opportunities to strengthen the connections between our services and learn from the people working to prepare the next generation of military leaders.

Great visit to Saronic Technologies last week! 🫡🇺🇸

Our team witnessed firsthand how the character of modern warfare is evolving at a breakneck pace, reinforcing our duty at the Naval Academy to graduate leaders who are adaptable to technological change, and more importantly, can drive that change! ⚓️🇺🇸

Integrating autonomous systems across surface, subsurface, and aviation platforms is central to our vision for midshipman development as we prepare them for a fleet that is crewed and uncrewed, but seamlessly integrated.

Observing emerging capabilities in maritime autonomy reinforces how vital innovation and industry engagement are to keep ahead of the threat curve. Thank you to Saronic Tech for showing us their speed of manufacturing and innovative processes.

Our Vision…Our Brigade will execute cutting-edge research in the classroom and gain hands-on exposure to robotic and autonomous systems before ever stepping out to the Fleet. The future battlefield will demand seamless team-building between warfighters and autonomous technology. At the Naval Academy, that prep time is now…and we are moving out! ⚓️

New School for the Future…charged w/tech dominance! ⚓️🇺🇸

USNA will aggressively prepare to achieve technological dominance on the battlefield by establishing a dedicated school for Super Intelligence (SI), Information Warfare (IW), and Robotics & Autonomous Systems (RAS).

This concentrated focus is central to our Navy’s hedge strategy, ensuring our naval force maintains an unmatched combat edge in high-end future fights, where inexpensive, commercially available tech, coupled with Super Intelligence has fundamentally changed how modern militaries fight and win.

We will continue to rapidly integrate advanced technologies and innovate alongside our world-class faculty to equip Midshipmen with cutting-edge expertise in super intelligence, robotics and autonomous systems and information warfare.

Our adversaries are racing to dominate in this space…we must run faster!

Under inaugural Dean CAPT Mathias Roth, a true information warrior with decades of operational experience, Hopper Hall will become the academic centerpiece for commissioning the finest and most capable information warriors and tech-savvy leaders for the Navy and our Corps.

Football Program showcases USNA Shipbuilding & Naval Architecture…how many college football programs hit that target?!

Navy Football’s game program this Sat spotlighted something bigger than the game: our commitment to strengthening America’s maritime industrial base through shipbuilding, naval architecture, and academic innovation.

From summer shipyard internships with NAVSEA to interdisciplinary capstone projects and specialized courses in the History of Shipbuilding and Economics of National Defense, our midshipmen and world
class faculty are connecting classroom rigor to real-world fleet challenges.

Athletics and academics rowing together. Developing warfighters. Strengthening our fleet. Securing our nation’s defense. ⚓️⭐️🇺🇸

Thank you Dr. Samara Firebaugh, Professor Marcus Jones, Professor Brenda Boultwood, CAPT Li Sung, Permanent Military Professor, and all of our World Class faculty!

This summer, the Naval Academy selected five midshipmen to participate in its inaugural shipbuilding summer internship program that immersed rising first-class and second-class midshipmen in a multi-shipyard, multi-platform environment in both commercial shipyards and within Naval Sea Systems Command. Midshipmen not only gained exposure to the maritime industrial base and shipbuilding programs, but they also had the opportunity to conduct academic and operational research alongside experts in the field. During the internships, initial midshipmen research on a submarine concept design proved so impactful that their findings were accepted for presentation at a major industry conference. The midshipmen will build upon their internship experience by bringing forth their newly gained knowledge into their senior capstone projects.

Additionally, Professor Marcus Jones is developing a dedicated History of Shipbuilding course for the History Department while Professor Brenda Boultwood currently teaches a course titled the Economics of National Defense within the Economics Department.

What a comeback! ⚓️💥 Navy Football weathered the storm and delivered a hard-fought, come-from-behind victory over Tulsa! The Hurricanes brought the heat, but our Midshipmen showed grit and the never-quit mentality that defines us.

Great to have Coach Jon Gruden firing up the fan base alongside our Spirit Team, Drum and Bugle Corps, Cannoneers, Brigade and our amazing fans who packed the stands and brought the energy, THANK YOU!

There is something truly special about this place. The pride, the tradition, the toughness, and most importantly the people.

This is Navy Football in the, “Most Patriotic Stadium in America!”

Great to spend the morning with Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Energy, Installations, and Environment Brendan Rogers ’90, a great Naval Academy graduate and partner, as we accelerate our vision for bringing advanced technology and autonomous systems to our Midshipmen.

Our high-performance computing cluster will give Midshipmen and Faculty access to significant GPU processing power, our drone port at Nimitz Hall will expand flight ops, our Hopper Hall Pier expansion will support UUVs and USVs, and major waterfront infrastructure upgrades will enable our YP-NEXT vision, using YP craft as motherships for autonomous air, surface, and subsurface systems.

Thank you Hon Rogers for helping us take our Vision into Action!

Innovate. Innovate. Innovate. 🇺🇸⚓️

Forrestal w/Gen Donovan! 🔥

General Frank Donovan, Commander of U.S. Southern Command, joined us as our Forrestal Lecturer, sharing updates on SOUTHCOM ops, the importance of autonomous systems, and the leadership truth that engaging with your people remains the key to mission success.

For nearly 30 years, I have had the privilege of learning from and observing this outstanding leader. It is no surprise that SOUTHCOM is executing at a high tempo and with tremendous success.

Our Mids asked solid questions and General Donovan delivered the perfect finale: weekend liberty for the Brigade, all while proudly wearing his signature Forrestal gift: a Navy tracksuit.

Thank you, General Donovan, for your leadership, friendship, and investment in the next generation of warfighters.

Over the past year, our Super Intelligence Integration Operational Planning Team has been charging hard to push this critical capability across the goal line. Their aggressive ex*****on has shifted USNA from treating Super Intelligence as an “educational adversary” to employing it as a force-multiplying “thinking partner,” able to amplify human decision making.

We’ve officially unlocked direct, enterprise-wide access to the DoW’s top AI platform (GenAI.mil) for all 6,500 midshipmen, faculty, and staff, fueling next-generation research and education across USNA.

This milestone is proof of what happens when we cultivate a culture of disciplined experimentation, execute rapid learning cycles, and master emerging technology. A massive shout-out to the team behind this victory:
• CDR Ed Jatho & our entire SI Integration Operational Planning Team: For relentless focus, tactical drive, and leading this effort across the line over the past year.
• Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office Leadership & Engineers: For delivering unmatched speed, technical horsepower, and true mission partnership.
• Herb Elkin & the USNA IT Services Division: For fortifying our digital infrastructure and securing enterprise-level ex*****on.
Our end state is non-negotiable: USNA graduates will be Super Intelligence-fluent, ethically grounded, and prepared to dominate with SI-enabled decision advantage the moment they commission into the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.

A STAR FOR NAVY GOLF! ⭐️⚓️⛳️

Navy Men’s Golf took home the Star ⭐️ after beating Army at West Point this weekend! Great competition and another Star headed back to Annapolis.

Meanwhile, the Naval Academy hosted its inaugural home triathlon, the Navy Collegiate Cup, along with associated club and dual events, right here on the Yard. Our Mids showed grit and toughness after some bike falls in amphibious weather that didn’t keep ‘em down long.

Winning the Star and Inaugural Triathlons on the Yard! 🔥⚓️🇺🇸
