Voters living within the Roselle Fire Protection District (unincorporated areas of DuPage and Cook Counties surrounding the Village of Roselle) will consider a referendum for the District on November 3, 2026 that, if approved, would generate approximately $400,000 in property tax revenue. The funding would support fire protection, ambulance and emergency medical response services for residents and businesses in the District.

More information can be found at https://tinyurl.com/RoselleFPD. Please reach out to the District directly with any questions about their services or the referendum.

❔What is the difference between the Roselle Fire Protection District and the Roselle Fire Department (RFD)?
The District provides fire protection and emergency medical services in unincorporated areas of DuPage and Cook Counties surrounding incorporated Roselle.

RFD’s primary service area is incorporated Roselle, but RFD also delivers comprehensive fire, rescue and emergency medical services to residents in the District through an intergovernmental agreement with the Village of Roselle.

If you ever need to call 9-1-1, do your best to stay calm so the dispatcher can understand what resources the situation may need. Make sure you know where the emergency is happening, and stay on the line to answer other questions while help is on the way. You can also text 9-1-1 if calling is not possible.

Many of the devices in our daily lives run on rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, which can overheat, start a fire, or explode if damaged or charged incorrectly. Reduce risk by:

⚡Using the cord and charger that come with your device or ones approved by the manufacturer. Using the wrong charger can damage and increase the risk of fire.
⚡Charging devices on a hard, flat surface, like a table, desk, or floor. Beds, couches, and pillows can trap heat and block airflow, which can cause a battery to overheat.
⚡Unplugging your device when it is fully charged. Leaving it plugged in longer than needed can increase heat and stress on the battery.
⚡Charging large items like e-bikes, scooters, and power tools outside when possible. Do not block exits when charging. These batteries store more energy, and fires can grow quickly if they fail.

We are seeing heavy traffic as visitors attend the PGA Presidents Cup tournament at the Medinah Country Club (9/22-27) and travel around the Medinah Rd. closure. Traffic is expected to be heaviest on westbound Irving Park Rd., southbound Rt. 53, and westbound Lake St., with some additional traffic on Roselle Rd. as well. Plan accordingly: allow extra time, especially if traveling around rush hour, and consider alternate routes that avoid traveling eastbound towards the heavy traffic areas. We thank our residents for their patience and understanding as our area welcomes an additional 40,000 visitors daily during the tournament.

This PGA event falls under the jurisdiction of the DuPage County Sheriff's Office
- residents are encouraged to check their page for the most up-to-date road closure and traffic information.
