Time to cash in those Golden Tickets! All students who met their individual goals for our Readathon were treated to popsicles by our PTC and an extended recess to enjoy their special treat!

Our 6th graders put science into action by designing and building their own solar cookers! They tested their creations with the best kind of experiment—making sweet treats like s’mores to enjoy and share with friends. A little sunshine, a lot of learning, and a pretty delicious result!

What a wonderful way to wrap up our Read-a-Thon!

Friday’s Family Read-In was the perfect ending to a fun and successful event. We loved welcoming so many families to campus to spend time together and celebrate our students.

A very special thank you to our amazing PTC for all of their hard work in making the Read-a-Thon and Family Read-In possible! We are so grateful for the time, energy, and heart they put into creating memorable experiences for our students and supporting programs across our campus.

Thank you as well to our Excelsior families for participating, donating, and encouraging a love of books and learning at home. Your support makes such a difference!

Happy National Custodians Day to our amazing day and night custodians, Ms. Dora and Ms. Isela!

We are so grateful for everything you do each day to keep Excelsior clean, safe, and welcoming for our students and staff. Your hard work happens both behind the scenes and all around us, and it makes such a difference in our school community.

We are so lucky to have you as part of our Eagle family!

Part One of our Read-a-Thon Spirit Week has been a blast!

We kicked things off with Mismatch Monday, and our Eagles definitely understood the assignment! Wild combinations, clashing patterns, and plenty of creativity filled our campus.

Today, students stepped right out of the pages as their favorite book characters! We loved seeing so many familiar faces from beloved stories come to life.

What a great start to Spirit Week—we can’t wait to see what the rest of the week brings!

READING IS SWEET!

Our “Reading is Sweet” Read-a-thon is officially underway, and we kicked things off in the sweetest way—with a special visit from W***y Wonka!

Our Eagles headed outside to enjoy 30 minutes of reading, spin the prize wheel, and celebrate the start of a fun-filled week of reading!

A HUGE thank you to our incredible PTC for the amazing decorations and for putting together such a memorable kickoff for our students. They truly brought the Wonka magic to Excelsior!

This week’s goal: Read for 30 minutes every day to track on their log sheet, and bring in those donations to support Excelsior!

And don’t forget—Friday, October 2 is our Family Read-In! We can’t wait to see our Eagles and their families wrap up a sweet week of reading together. 🍭

Many thanks to Carina Parks for the beautiful photos!

We know that school safety rules can sometimes mean an extra step, a little patience or a change in your usual routine. We appreciate our families being receptive to these guidelines and helping us reinforce them. Every one of these efforts has the same goal: keeping our students safe.
