Supporting someone with dementia takes patience, understanding, and the right tools.

Our Client Care Manager, April Ceballos, recently led a Dementia Care training for our caregivers, helping them strengthen their knowledge and better understand how to support clients living with dementia.

Ongoing education helps our team provide care that is not only safe, but also compassionate, respectful, and responsive to each client’s individual needs.

What a beautiful reminder that art is so much more than colors on a canvas. It is a language of its own — one that can reach beyond words, awaken memories, spark conversations, and create meaningful connections. 🖌️✨

For seniors living with dementia and Alzheimer’s, the opportunity to create art can bring so many wonderful benefits. It nurtures purpose, encourages self-expression, promotes socialization, strengthens connections with others, and provides opportunities to engage with memories in meaningful ways.

Sometimes a brushstroke tells a story that words cannot. Sometimes a splash of color brings a smile, a memory, or a moment of belonging.

BeyondWell Home Care was honored to attend and support the 2026 Western Region Chapter Aging Life Care Association® (WRC-ALCA) Annual Conference, held September 30 – October 2, 2026, at Caesars Republic in South Lake Tahoe, NV!

Themed "From Clear Waters to High Peaks: Elevating Aging Life Care™," this exceptional event brought together industry leaders, expert care managers, and dedicated professionals committed to advancing excellence in senior care and client advocacy.

At BeyondWell Home Care, we are dedicated to empowering families and enhancing the quality of life for older adults. Connecting with Aging Life Care professionals and attending informative educational presentations at WRC-ALCA helps us to continually elevate the standard of care we provide to our community. Our very own April Ceballos was also on a panel discussion about how Aging Life Care managers can work and collaborate together on complicated cases, and refer families to professionals that will support their specific needs.

One lesson that has stayed with April Ceballos throughout her experience is that dementia is not a normal part of aging.

She also sees how much Gen X caregivers are balancing: parents, children, sometimes grandchildren, careers, and everyday life.

Her reminder to families carrying so much: help is available. You don’t have to manage it all alone.

Helping doesn’t always mean taking over.

When it’s safe, encourage older adults to keep participating in the things they can still do, like choosing their clothes, folding towels, watering plants, preparing part of a meal, or making everyday decisions.

Before stepping in, ask yourself: “Can they participate in this?”

Sometimes support means helping someone keep doing, not doing everything for them.
