🌧️☀️ EVENT UPDATE: No matter what Mother Nature has in store, tonight's event is rain or shine! We have a contingency plan in place should weather impact the event tonight. Keep an eye on this page for updates as the day progresses. We can't wait to see you tonight!
------------
Children will be able to enjoy a safe and fun event as the City of Roswell puts on the Fall Bash. The free event takes place Thursday, Oct. 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pioneer Plaza (426 N. Main St.).
Activities will include trunk-or-treat, games, train rides, photo ops, candy and trinkets (non-food items), music, and free hot dogs, chips and drinks (while the food and drink supplies last).
The Roswell Police Department and Roswell Fire Department will provide a chance for children (and adults) to visit with these local first-responders and get an up-close look at law enforcement and fire vehicles. The city’s Streets, Parks and Transit departments also plan to have vehicles on display. Other city departments participating in the event are Recreation, Air Center and City Clerk. The Visitor Center will make its restrooms available to those at the Fall Bash and will offer a “not-so-scary” hallway to roam through.
MainStreet Roswell will also participate in the activities with a costume contest, cake walk and games at nearby Reischman Park (308 N. Main St.). Meanwhile, several downtown businesses will be handing out candy.
Those attending the Fall Bash are welcome to dress in costumes if they like.
Parking will be available one block west of the event in the parking lot at the corner of North Richardson Avenue and West Fourth Street.
Anyone who would like to donate candy for use by the entities participating in the trunk-or-treat can drop off the candy at City Hall (425 N. Richardson Ave.) or the city’s Public Affairs office (421 N. Richardson Ave.)
Thanks go out to the sponsors of this City of Roswell event: Home Depot, Rhoades Co., Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell, Dion's, Pioneer Bank, Anderson Bethany Funeral Home, and Xcel Energy.
