Thanks for the update on this important bill.

This summer, the conference committee reconciled the House and Senate version of the Child Welfare Reform bill. The bill strengthens oversight, transparency, and accountability within the Commonwealth’s child welfare system. Governor Healey signed it into law on August 6. Congratulations to Kristin Kassner State Representative 2nd Essex District, for this well-deserved honor of being named Massachusetts Legislator of the Year by the Massachusetts Municipal Lawyers Association! Let's reelect Representative Kassner so she can continue delivering for the Second Essex District.

On Oct. 1, Kristin Kassner was given the Massachusetts Legislator of the Year Award by the Massachusetts Municipal Lawyers’ Association. I was surprised. Not because I have a negative view of our representative; on the contrary, I have been impressed by Kristin’s thoughtful, pragmatic and persis...

$2.5 million to Rowley to help remediate water issues for current and future needs!

Congratulations to all the Second Essex District communities receiving these grants to fix critical issues facing them!

When grant opportunities become available, Representative Kassner makes sure each town knows about them, offers help writing the grant, and writes a letter of support to accompany it. She also reaches out to the executive office to discuss the town's needs and why it deserves the grant. And, of course, in the state budget, she supports funding for the Community One Stop program. I think you would be surprised at how much effort Rep. Kassner puts in for the benefit of our towns.

Rowley is moving forward—and State Representative Kristin Kassner is helping make it happen! 🚀

Thanks to Rep. Kassner’s advocacy and collaboration with local and state officials, Rowley received a $250,000 Community Compact grant to expand the town’s fiber-optic infrastructure. This investment will help connect municipal buildings, improve online services, strengthen cybersecurity and disaster recovery, and reduce long-term technology costs.

This is what effective representation looks like: collaborating with local, state, and administrative officials and colleagues; bringing state resources home to Rowley; and investing in our town’s future. We’re grateful to have a strong advocate for Rowley and the 2nd Essex District working for us on Beacon Hill.

Thank you, Kristin Kassner State Representative 2nd Essex District, for thinking strategically and working collaboratively with innovative local businesses and organizations in the biotech sector to move the Second Essex District towards the jobs of the future for your constituents.

In June, New England Biolabs, in collaboration with Rep. Kristin Kassner and BioConnects New England, hosted the North Shore Community Leadership Summit on its Ipswich campus.

The event brought together more than 75 community leaders, officials, educators, and industry partners from across the region to discuss expanding biotechnology and building pathways into biotechnology careers on the North Shore. (from June Ipswich Local News)

It was great to meet with Eunice Zeigler for Governor’s Council last night and learn the importance of the Governor's Council in judicial confirmations, appointments to critical boards, and enacting pardons and commutations. Of course, we loved catching up with Kristin Kassner State Representative 2nd Essex District, to hear about the important work she has been doing for the District.

Remember,

It was great to join Rep. Kristin Kassner in Rowley to share updates and learn about pressing issues. Thank you Rowley Democratic Town Committee for the warm welcome as always.

Republicans can try to run away from Donald Trump, but they can't hide.

09/21/2026

We’re happy to read that all the major news outlet: ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News and NBC have suspended pooled TV coverage of President Trump.

I am sure President Obama will have a lot to say about this at Salem State tonight!

Please let us know if you attended!

Always delivering for the Second Essex!

The two Technical Schools in our district, Essex Tech and Whittier, will receive FY27 FC0426 Framework and Competency Based Implementation Grants of $40,000 each for their Career and Technical Education programs. The Framework Implementation Grant is designed to strengthen competency-based CTE programming and provide students with essential skills for college, careers, and civic engagement.

In 2024, DESE launched the Career-Connected Learning Hub and in 2025, DESE published 44 new instructional frameworks aligned to Massachusetts industry needs. Districts will use funding to implement these Career and Technical Education (CTE) frameworks using competency-based systems, mapping teaching, learning, and assessment to ensure students gain skills for college, career, and civic engagement and integrating career-connected learning with grade-level aligned math, English, and science content.

Districts will have access to technical assistance, resources and tools developed through the project for statewide access. This grant is funded through federal Perkins Career and Technical Education funds (Federal CFDA 84.048).
