Attention Roxana Residents,

The Village of Roxana Street Department's leaf collection program has begun and will run through December 31st, weather permitting.

The leaf collection truck will be scheduled to make its rounds approximately once per week. Collection may be delayed due to weather conditions.

If you have leaves you would like collected, please place them:

Near your normal trash collection area, or
In the grass between the sidewalk and the street in front of your residence.

The leaf collection program is for leaves only. Sticks, gumballs, grass clippings, and other yard debris should not be included in leaf piles.

Please do not place leaves in the gutters or streets. Leaves can be washed away by rain and clog the Village's stormwater system.

Leaves are collected using heavy equipment. Please keep leaf piles far enough away from buildings, vehicles, utility poles, mailboxes, and other obstacles so the equipment can safely access and collect them.

Leaf piles that are not placed in accordance with these guidelines, or that contain other yard debris, will not be collected.

Thank you.

Attention Roxana Residents,

Effective immediately, all requests for Village dumpsters must be made in person at Village Hall.

Residents will be asked to read and sign a dumpster rental agreement before a dumpster can be scheduled for delivery. This agreement outlines the proper use of Village dumpsters and helps ensure compliance with landfill regulations while protecting Village equipment.

If you have any questions, please contact Village Hall at 618-254-0345 or the Street Dept. at 618-254-1951 during normal business hours. Thank you for your cooperation as we implement this new procedure.

An update will be provided once the regular schedule has resumed. If you have any questions, please contact the Roxana Street Department at (618) 254-1951. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Roxana Residents,
Ahead of the predicted large scale snow event this weekend, please see the following notice.

**Snow Removal and Street Maintenance:**
During snow events, we kindly request residents make an effort to remove vehicles from the roadways whenever possible. This facilitates thorough snow plowing from curb to curb and ensures the safety and efficiency of our snow removal operations. Failure to do so may result in vehicles being buried during heavy snowfalls.

Please be aware that the Street Department does not provide plowing or salting services for alleyways. This is due to clearance issues that hinder effective snow removal in these areas. If your parking area is accessible only by alleyway, please note that your vehicle may encounter difficulty traversing through during heavy snowfall or icy conditions. We encourage residents to explore alternative parking arrangements during these conditions.

We recommend waiting until the streets have been cleared of snow before clearing your driveways. Failing to wait may result in the driveway approach being reburied during subsequent snow plowing.

**Special Assistance for Elderly and Handicapped Residents:**
The Village provides snow removal assistance for the driveways of elderly and handicapped citizens. To apply for this program, contact Village Hall at (618) 254-0345. It is important to note that this service will be provided only after the streets are completely cleared.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain safe and accessible streets during winter weather.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Roxana Residents,

As the autumn season has concluded, please be advised that the Village’s weekly scheduled leaf collection program ended on December 31, 2025. Leaf collection associated with this program has now concluded as the Street Department transitions to winter operations.

While the Street Department may still collect leaves as time and conditions allow, the weekly scheduled pickup has ended. Leaves placed out at this time may experience delayed collection or may require alternative disposal methods.

If you have questions regarding leaf disposal, please contact the Roxana Street Department at (618) 254-1951.
