This Pride Month, we reaffirm our commitment to creating schools where every student feels welcomed, valued, and respected.

We serve students from many different backgrounds, experiences, and family structures. Our role is to provide a safe, supportive learning environment where all students can focus on learning, growing, and reaching their potential.

The Pride flags at each of our schools serve as a reminder of our shared expectation that every member of our school community is treated with dignity, kindness, and respect.

Oak Ridge Elementary proudly celebrated Red, White & Blue Day in honor of Memorial Day. As students and staff came together in patriotic colors, we took time to reflect on the holiday's meaning and to recognize the brave men and women who have served our country. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all veterans and active-duty military members for their sacrifice, service, and dedication.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this meaningful tradition a special day of remembrance and appreciation.

Oakland County voters will see a Regional Enhancement Millage proposal on the August 4, 2026 ballot. If approved, the proposal would generate additional funding for all public school districts and eligible public school academies throughout Oakland County through a 1.5-mill levy over six years.

What could this funding support?
The additional revenue could help districts:
- Preserve reasonable class sizes
- Address ongoing special education funding challenges
- Enhance student safety and wellness efforts
- Support staffing and student services
- Recruit and retain highly qualified educators and staff
- Offset increasing operational expenses
- Sustain educational programs and opportunities for students

Because each district has unique needs, funding decisions would be made locally.
Districts could direct resources where they would have the greatest impact on students, whether that involves staffing, transportation, technology, mental health supports, facility improvements, or other priorities.

Potential Impact for Royal Oak Schools
If approved, the Regional Enhancement Millage would provide Royal Oak Schools with additional resources to support student learning and district operations. Funding could help the district continue attracting and retaining exceptional staff, maintain high-quality academic and extracurricular programs, support student wellness initiatives, address special education costs, and respond to rising operational expenses. Royal Oak Schools remains committed to providing outstanding educational experiences for all students, and this funding could help sustain and strengthen those efforts in the years ahead.

Additional information about the Regional Enhancement Millage, including a tax calculator and frequently asked questions, is available at: https://bit.ly/4em1otR
