Friends of Ruch Library is a non-profit 501(c)3 community organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing the Ruch library through resource development, advocacy, promotion, and projects that foster all forms of literacy and increase the love of reading and lifelong learning.

"Banned Book Week - Oct 4-10"

Donations to the Ruch Library include books of all kinds. There is a small bookcase in the A-Frame Bookstore containing Classics, Vintage, Challenged and Banned books. All books, audio books and puzzles are $2. Children's books are $0.50. Our bookstore is run by volunteers and all proceeds benefit the Ruch Library. Thank you for your support.

"1st Saturday Book Barn Sale Oct 3rd 12-4 pm"

The First Saturday Book Barn "Grand Reopening" Sale is Saturday October 3rd from 12-4 pm. The book cases are full of new books and we have added to the DVD's and CV's filling the space available. As before this sale is by donation. Bring your book donations with you, when you come to shop.

The A-Frame Bookstore is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 1-3 pm. The Bookstore is air conditioned and new books and puzzles are added weekly. All books, audio books and puzzles are $2. Children's books are $0.50.

Thank you for your continued support. All proceeds benefit the Ruch Branch Library and the bookstores are run by volunteers.

Non-Fiction Categories are available in the A-Frame Bookstore. Our most popular categories include History, Art, Science, Nature, Cooking, Gardening, Biographies and Memoirs, Travel, and Poetry. There is also a General Non-Fiction bookcase to cover a wide assortment of newly donated books for many other areas of interest.

Look for our "New to the A-Frame" bookcase when you enter the Bookstore. New books are added each week with a special area for 2025-2026 copyrighted books.

Located in their own room are the newest books for children and teens at $0.50. Because these books are our biggest sellers, we are always in search of children's donations. Please help by bringing children's donations to the A-Frame Bookstore during open hours or to the Book Barn breezeway and putting them under the free book tables.

"The Magic of Microgreens" at Ruch Branch Library

Microgreens may be small, but these mighty foods are packed with flavor and nutrients. Join the Jackson County Master Gardeners for a family fun day learning how to grow your own microgreens at home!

In this hands-on class we will talk about seeds, taste test different microgreens, and set up containers for you to take home and grow on a windowsill. All materials will be provided, while supplies last.

When Heather Paladini moved into an Applegate Valley farmhouse built more than 120 years ago, she had no idea a network of connections and tragedies lay beneath the surface. But after the discovery of some old letters in her kitchen, she dove down a rabbit hole of research to uncover them.

"House of Threads," an original documentary short produced by Jackson County Library Services, tells the story of her property and search for answers. If houses are historic artifacts, Heather's is a whole museum.
