The past several weeks the Rudolph Volunteer Fire Department has been busy presenting this year’s fire safety programs and activities. We had the pleasure of teaching students from Kennedy Elementary School in Junction City, Think Academy in Rudolph, Little Sprouts Learning Garden in Rudolph, and Our Lady Queen of Heaven in Wisconsin Rapids. In total we saw around 425 children. This year the 4-K, Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grade students learned about the protective clothing firefighters wear, how to stop drop and roll, calling 911, smoke detectors, and toured a fire truck. 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th graders learned about fire safety in the kitchen and home, battery and electronic device charging safety, escape plans, and what to do in case of fire utilizing the Wood County Fire Chiefs Association Fire Safety Trailer. Below are several pictures from our fire safety activities. (Photo credit to the School Instructors, Aides, and our members)

This week, October 4th-10th, is National Fire Prevention week, which is celebrated each year during the week of October 9th in commemoration of the Great Chicago Fire. This year's theme is “Charge Into Fire Safety™ Safe Charging Is a Superpower”. This theme focuses on the everyday charging habits that can help reduce the risk of lithium-ion battery fires and keep homes and communities safer.

Plug in. Power up. Stay safe.

The Rudolph Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. would like to thank everyone who came out to attend our open house last evening, as well as our department members who helped with setup, tear down, and operation of the activities. As the evening progressed, we were treated to a beautiful photogenic sunset. Credit to Firefighter/EMT Pulchinski, and Firefighter Polum of our department for taking the attached photos.
