✨ A Night of Celebration, Dedication & Remembrance
On the evening of September 11th, Mayor Nick Kappatos & Council joined the Runnemede Youth Athletic Association (RYAA) and the Runnemede Fire Department to officially cut the ribbon on the 100th Centennial Project — bringing lights to the Runnemede Youth Athletic Fields! ⚾️⚽️💡
The evening also provided an opportunity to pause and honor the memory of September 11, 2001. Deputy Chief Anthony Dolce shared meaningful insight into the impact the attacks had on our country and reflected on the lives lost, including the brave first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice.
A moment of silence was held in solemn remembrance of all those who lost their lives and in honor of the first responders who answered the call that day.
We were also honored to have several individuals present who played an important role in making the Youth Athletic Fields lighting project a reality, including:
🔹 Mike Root, Former Councilman, who was instrumental in helping bring this project to fruition.
🔹 Tara Root, a member of the Runnemede-Bellmawr-Glendora Rotary, whose support has extended both financially and through hands-on work helping improve and maintain the facilities.
A special thank you to Mayor & Council and our Borough staff, whose hard work and dedication helped bring this project to completion — especially Shelley Streahle and Maria Panzarella for all they do behind the scenes to support our community and help make projects like this possible. ❤️
This milestone is a wonderful example of what can happen when community leaders, volunteers, organizations, first responders, Borough staff, and residents come together with a shared vision.
Congratulations to RYAA and everyone who helped make this 100th Centennial Project possible! 💡⚾️⚽️
And as we celebrate this achievement, we continue to remember, honor, and never forget. 🇺🇸
