On September 24, the Sheriff’s Office Regional SWAT Team attempted to serve arrest warrants on Andrew Morgan, 39, of Jacksonville.

The Regional SWAT Team is comprised of members from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Jacksonville Police Department, and Bullard Police Department.

During the attempt to serve the warrants, Morgan fled into his residence. A search warrant was subsequently obtained for the residence.

The residence was cleared by members of the Regional SWAT Team; however, Morgan was not located inside and remains at large. Law enforcement believed Morgan was in a crawl space that could not be safely reached by law enforcement.

Law enforcement officers are actively searching for Morgan. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office or their local law enforcement agency.

Morgan has made comments about committing su***de by cop and shooting at cops. Morgan is considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach or attempt to apprehend him.

Update!

The Sheriff’s Office remains on scene on CR 1628 with a barricaded suspect.

The suspect, Andrew Morgan, 39, of Jacksonville, is believed to be armed and dangerous and is currently barricaded inside his residence.

Morgan is wanted by the Sheriff’s Office on multiple charges. Morgan fled into his residence when Deputies attempted to take him into custody this afternoon.

🚨 Emergency Response Update

The Sheriff’s Office and the County Regional Emergency Response Team are currently on scene of a barricaded person on CR 1628 between Jacksonville and Rusk.

The subject is considered armed and dangerous but is believed to be confined inside the residence at this time.

Residents are asked to avoid the area and allow emergency personnel to work. Please do not approach the scene.
