Rusk Police Department

Today marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, a solemn day when our nation pauses to remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost and honor the courage of our first responders. Today is a day we will never forget.

Thank you Officer Collins for your dedication to our community and our youth! Community is at the heart of what we do. We believe that strong relationships between our officers, our schools, our families, and our children help make Rusk a stronger and safer place for everyone.

Thank you to our local schools for welcoming our officers and giving us the opportunity to be a part of our students’ mornings and their lives! ❤️🖤

This hometown girl is giving back to the community that helped shape her! Now serving with the Rusk Police Department, she shared how powerful it is for officers to be present at our elementary school greeting students, building relationships, and helping every child begin the day feeling safe, seen, and supported.
These moments may seem small, but their impact can last a lifetime. Our students are not only meeting a police officer; they are seeing a hometown role model who reminds them that they, too, can grow up to serve and make a difference right here in their own community. Thank you for showing our Eagles what community, service, and purpose look like! 🦅❤️

Yesterday morning, members of the Rusk Police Department had the opportunity to assist with food distribution and spend time with members of our community. We are thankful for organizations like The Good Samaritan that work tirelessly to help meet the needs of our citizens and make a positive impact throughout our community.

Their commitment to serving others is truly appreciated, and they are always looking for volunteers who are willing to lend a helping hand. If you're looking for a way to give back, consider supporting The Good Samaritan and the important work they do!

Thank you to everyone who helped make yesterday's food distribution a success. We are proud to serve alongside such dedicated community partners!💙

📚🚸 Back to School Reminder – Rusk ISD 🚸📚

Rusk ISD students will be heading back to school this Tuesday! As our Eagle students return to the classroom, we want to remind everyone to stay alert and help keep our community safe.

⚠️ Important Safety Reminders:

• Slow down and follow all posted school zone speed limits
• Stop for school buses when lights are flashing – it’s the law! Do not pass the bus!
• Be mindful of increased morning and afternoon traffic
• Watch for students crossing streets and walking to and from school
• Avoid distractions while driving!

Our students are a top priority, and it takes all of us working together to keep them safe. Let’s make this school year a safe and successful one for every Rusk Eagle! 🦅

One of the best parts of summertime for our officers is driving through our neighborhoods and seeing kids just being kids! ☀️🏈
Officer Beckman and our newest officer, Officer Allums, took a few minutes out of their day to stop and help some of our future Eagle football players get a few reps in. Building positive relationships with our youth is one of the best parts of the job, and moments like these remind us what community is all about. As you travel through our neighborhoods this summer, please slow down and stay alert. Our children are outside riding bikes, playing ball, and making memories with their friends.
If you see our officers out and about, don't hesitate to wave or stop and say hello—we're always happy to visit and say hi!

One of our newer officers, Officer Nicholson, has hit the city of Rusk full force, and here is an example.
A citizen asked a few questions in passing, and Officer Nicholson offered to assist by changing her headlight that was out.
Police work isn’t always about calls and citations — sometimes it’s just helping someone out. Without unity, there is no community!
Thank you, Officer Nicholson, for going the extra mile. If you see one of our new officers out, please stop and say hi!
