🚀 LEVELING UP HR, STRENGTHENING OUR TEAM, AND CHANGING LIVES! 🚀

When we invest in our people, we strengthen our mission. And when we strengthen our mission, we strengthen our communities!

ARVAC was proud to participate in the 2026 Arkansas SHRM State HR Conference & Expo, held October 14–16 at the Hot Springs Convention Center!

Celebrating 40 years, this year's conference theme, “LEVEL UP: The Future of HR Is a Game Changer,” brought HR professionals from across Arkansas together for three days of learning, leadership, networking, and professional growth.

🇺🇸 One of the memorable moments was the Color Guard presentation, a meaningful display of patriotism and respect that helped set the tone for the conference.

🎤 Opening keynote speaker Morris Morrison brought energy and inspiration, challenging attendees to think about leadership, personal growth, and the impact we can make through our actions.

Throughout the conference, our HR team had opportunities to explore important workplace topics, including employment law, organizational leadership, and strategies for supporting employees. The engaging attorney panel, informative sessions, and connections with fellow HR professionals offered valuable perspectives to bring back to ARVAC.

💚 But what does all of this mean for Community Action?

At ARVAC, Human Resources is about more than policies, procedures, and paperwork. It's about supporting the people who dedicate their careers to serving others.

From helping families access essential resources and supporting individuals on their recovery journeys to providing early childhood education and assisting those facing difficult circumstances, our employees are the heart of our mission.

🌟📚 BEHIND EVERY THRIVING CHILD IS AN EDUCATOR WHO UNDERSTANDS THAT EVERY CHILD HAS A STORY! 💙

At ARVAC, Inc., we believe that making a difference in a child's life begins with understanding their needs, recognizing their challenges, and creating an environment where they feel safe, supported, and valued.

Recently, our educators had the opportunity to participate in an engaging and interactive Trauma-Informed Practices Training led by Amanda Musick!

This important professional development experience focused on helping teachers better understand how trauma and adverse childhood experiences can influence a child's emotions, behavior, relationships, and ability to learn.

But this wasn't just about learning the concepts. It was about putting that knowledge into action! 🙌

Through meaningful discussions, hands-on activities, and a little creativity (including some paper airplanes! ✈️), participants explored ways to bring trauma-informed approaches into their classrooms.

💙 Because sometimes, the behavior we see is only a small part of the story we don't see.

Trauma-informed teaching encourages educators to look beyond challenging behaviors, respond with compassion, build trusting relationships, and create classroom environments where children have opportunities to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

At ARVAC, we recognize that supporting our educators is an investment in the children and families we serve. When teachers are equipped with the right tools, knowledge, and understanding, they are better prepared to make a meaningful difference in the lives of their students.

If Hailey looks familiar, you may remember her as one of the first team members we featured for our Wellness Wednesday ~ Lake Point Answers series. She has been willing to step forward, share her knowledge, represent Lake Point, and help others better understand the importance of mental health, recovery, and reaching out for help.

But the work that happens behind the scenes is just as important.
As a Clinical Liaison, Hailey helps serve as a connection between people who need support and the services that can help them move forward. Her work reflects something we value deeply across ARVAC: meeting people where they are and helping them take that next step.

🏈💚 OUR WELLNESS GAME PLAN WAS IN FULL EFFECT! 💚🏈
Yesterday, ARVAC came together for our 2026 Annual Wellness Event, Benefits Fair & Safety Day, and what a day it was!
Our theme was “Wellness Game Plan: Your Health, Your Team, Your Winning Strategy,” and throughout the morning, our employees were reminded that wellness isn't just one thing. It’s how we care for our bodies, manage stress, protect our safety, support one another, and make choices that help us show up stronger—both at work and at home.

From conversations about healthy eating, better sleep, stress management, work-life balance, teamwork, and overall well-being to learning practical, potentially lifesaving skills like how to respond when someone is choking and how to properly use a fire extinguisher, the day was packed with information employees can actually take with them and use. ❤️

Employees also had the opportunity to visit with our benefit representatives, ask questions, learn more about the resources available to them, and gather information to help them make informed decisions for themselves and their families.

But one of the best parts of the day was simply seeing our ARVAC team together. There was learning, laughter, movement, conversation, participation, and plenty of team spirit! 🙌
At ARVAC, we spend every day focused on Helping People. Changing Lives. This event was also a reminder that the people carrying out that mission deserve opportunities to learn, recharge, connect, and invest in their own health and well-being.
