Rye Municipal Facilities and Services Master Plan Feedback Form

The Town of Rye would like to develop a comprehensive Municipal Facilities and Services Master Plan to guide decisions about municipal investments and service delivery over the next 10 to 20 years. The Town is currently developing the scope and estimated budget for this future planning effort, including identifying what should be evaluated and what professional expertise will be needed. This work will result in a recommended scope and funding request for consideration at Town Meeting 2027.

What are municipal facilities and services?
Municipal facilities and services include the buildings, properties, infrastructure, vehicles, equipment, staffing, and support the Town relies on to serve the community. Examples may include Town Hall and administrative offices; police, fire, and emergency facilities and services; public works facilities and operations; the library and recreation facilities; transfer station and solid waste services; municipal roads, drainage, and other infrastructure; and the vehicles and equipment needed to support these varied Town operations.

Dear Resident,

The Town of Rye is taking steps toward a potential Municipal Facilities & Services Master Plan—and we need your input.

The proposed planning effort would take a comprehensive look at the Town’s buildings, infrastructure and equipment, and municipal services to help Rye plan for future needs and investments over the next 10 to 20 years.

Please join us on September 22 and help shape what this future planning effort should consider.

What Do We Want to Hear From You?
The September 22 Public Input Session will focus on an important question: What should a future Municipal Facilities & Services Master Plan consider? We want to hear what you think the Town should evaluate, what questions should be answered, and what needs and priorities should be considered as the scope of this future planning effort takes shape.

Where Are We in the Process?
Earlier today, the Master Plan Implementation Committee continued its discussion of the proposed Municipal Facilities & Services Master Plan. The Town is currently working to define project goals and desired outcomes, identify the information that should be collected and evaluated, determine the professional expertise needed, develop a detailed scope of work, and prepare a preliminary budget. The information and public input gathered during this phase will help inform a recommended project scope and funding request for consideration as part of the 2027 Town Meeting process.
