Starting September 1st we are adjusting our hours a bit. We are keeping the same 8-5 hours during the week but rolling back our closing time on weekends back to 5pm. We are still opening at 6am on Saturday and Sunday to accomodate our fishing community! Thanks for the great summer!

Due to power outages caused by last night’s tropical depression winds, Sabine Pass Battleground State Historic Site will be closed today. We appreciate your patience as crews work to restore power.

We greatly appreciate the help from Austin County Precinct 4 with this move. More updates to come in the future as we allocate funds to turn this building into a much needed visitors center at Sabine Pass Battleground SHS.

Site Manager Robert Spencer spoke with the Saltwater Anglers League of Texas - Sabine Area group last night about how the park could help better serve the fishing community around Sabine Pass. Lots of good ideas were passed around and vetted last night that will hopeful lead to better utilization by our fishing community all while still sharing the story of Dick Dowling and his brave men. Thanks again to James and the gang for having us last night and we look forward to working with your fantastic organization in the future!

Starting June 10th we will open at 6am and close at 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays. We will assess and may extend our hours further depending on demand. We hope that this will better serve our fishing community!
