I was so impressed by the young entrepreneurs who brought their "A" game to the Galt Children’s Maker Market. It is a one-time marketplace where local children:

🔸 Launch their own business
🔹 Build a brand + create products/services
🔸 Learn real-world marketing
🔹 Sell to live customers!

Thank you for having me as a judge! Galt is full of future leaders and supportive community members who encourage our kids to dream big and go after it.

Citing 'severe' math deficits, UC faculty demand a return to SAT tests for STEM applicants 05/29/2026

After reading the shocking report about the lack of academic preparation of first year UC San Diego students, I introduced Senate Bill 1321 to examine the issue. Sadly, my legislation was met with defeat.

In addition, Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh and I asked for an audit of remedial class usage and admission practices of the UCs and CSUs. To date, our audit request has not been approved for a hearing in the Joint Legislative Audit Committee (JLAC).

With only one scheduled JLAC hearing left on August 11th, I hope the leaders of the committee will seriously consider our request, especially considering this article shines light on the pleas from HUNDREDS of UC faculty regarding the fragile future of our state’s higher education system when standards for accepted students are ambiguous at best.

Citing 'severe' math deficits, UC faculty demand a return to SAT tests for STEM applicants Hundreds of University of California professors are urging the system to reinstate the SAT or ACT requirement for STEM majors by 2027, saying that the test-optional policy has created a widening preparation gap that threatens the value of UC science, technology, engineering and math degrees.

Galt Police Department, Caltrans, District 10, and the community came together to honor Officer Harminder Grewal, whose life of service and courage continues to shape the community he loved.

We dedicated a portion of California State Route 99 in his name, and the signs will stand as a reminder of his bravery, compassion, and service.

Officer Grewal died in August 2021 after a pickup truck crossed the median on SR-99 and collided head-on with his patrol car. He and his partner were responding to assist with evacuation orders for the Caldor Fire.

His legacy lives on in every life he protected and every person he lifted up.

Proud to see Senate Bill 84 on California Chamber of Commerce Cost Cutters list. My Right to Cure bill provides opportunities to fix construction-related Americans with Disabilities Act deficiencies in 120 days.

My intention is to protect the rights of the people with disabilities to have physical access while also protecting the rights of business owners to have meaningful access to justice, equal representation, and protection from meritless litigation.
