Sacramento police arrested Humberto Isador Palacios, 19, this week in connection with a deadly double stabbing at Downtown Commons (DOCO) that occurred on March 2, 2026.

Palacios was arrested by homicide detectives and tactical units on Wednesday and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail. He is currently facing a charge of homicide and is being held without bail.

The stabbing took place around 9:45 p.m. in the 400 block of K Street, near the Yard House restaurant and the Holiday Inn.

Dustin DeWitt, 21, of Stockton, was fatally wounded and pronounced dead at UC Davis Medical Center. A second victim, an unidentified woman, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

DeWitt’s family used his cellphone location to find the crime scene after he failed to return home from meeting a friend.

Dustin DeWitt was a resident of Stockton and worked at Dutch Bros Coffee. Family members described him as a hardworking "ray of sunshine" who was preparing to apply for a career as a flight attendant. Community members held a candlelight vigil for him in Nelson Park shortly after the incident.
