There’s a reason why playing outside, having a barbecue or picnic, or taking a walk in the open air feels so good. Studies have shown that time in nature can boost people’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Everyone should have access to these benefits. California’s state parks give us all places where we can find refuge, inspiration, and joy. When we connect with nature, we are connecting with ourselves and boosting our overall health. That’s why Parks California works hard to ensure equitable access to parks and is cultivating a sense of belonging for all.

Ready to nourish your soul with a little fun outdoors? California State Parks Week (June 12-16) is coming up. Each day has a special theme! Thursday, June 13 is β€œNourish Your Health and Well-being" day, with online and in-park events featuring activities like mindful walks, birdwatching, tai chi, and yoga to help your body find even more joy in California State Parks. Find an event near you at castateparksweek.org.

We are proud to partner with , , , , to host these exciting events.

The Partnership Division Unit is thrilled to introduce our four new team members. The Park Impact Partners Unit welcomed Partnerships Specialist, Anne Eychaner. We hope you enjoy the bio she recently shared in our most recent "Partnership Pulse!".

Welcome Anne Eychaner, Partnerships Specialist!

Anne Eychaner joined the Partnerships Division on November 27, 2023 as a Partnerships Specialist with the Park Impact Partner Program(PIPP), where she supports operating and co-management agreements. Anne graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. After graduating, she served for three years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Slovakia. As a PCV she led Camp GLOW – Girls Leading Our World - for two summers. That led her to more than 20 years as a professional Girl Scout, bringing Girl Scouting to underserved communities, supporting volunteer training, and managing the membership database, before joining State Parks. Bucket list trips she has completed are hiking the Grand Canyon rim-to-rim, rafting the Colorado through the Grand Canyon, and snorkeling and hiking in the Galapagos! Otherwise, in her free time Anne can be found cheering on the Arizona Wildcats men’s basketball team, enjoying pub trivia at a local Sacramento brewery, tasting El Dorado County wines with friends, or snuggling her cat, Raspberry.
