Happy Pride Month! ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€โšง๏ธ

California has long been a leader in the fight for LGBTQ+ equality, and Iโ€™m proud to serve alongside my colleagues in the California Legislative LGBTQ Caucus () as we continue that work.

Pride is a celebration of how far weโ€™ve comeโ€”but also a reminder that our work is not finished. As attacks on LGBTQ+ people continue across the country, California will remain a place where everyone can live openly, authentically, and with dignity.

Proud to share that my bill โ€” the Right to Human Customer Service Act โ€” passed the Assembly and is headed to the Senate.

Technology should make our lives easier, not trap consumers in endless phone trees, AI chat loops, and hours-long hold times.

This bill establishes a simple consumer protection: the right to reach a real person when you need help, and the right to know when youโ€™re interacting with AI instead of a human.

Thank you to District 9 for your partnership.

Proud to share that โ€” my bill protecting Californians from bearing the rising energy costs of large-scale data centers โ€” passed the Assembly with bipartisan support and is headed to the Senate.โ€จ
As AI and data centers drive enormous new electricity demand, working families and small businesses should not be left footing the bill.โ€จ
This bill helps ensure large energy users pay their fair share, protects ratepayers from cost shifts, and strengthens long-term grid reliability.
โ€จTY to and the for your support!

Proud to share that โ€” my bill to reduce barriers to treatment for Californians living with rare diseases โ€” passed the Assembly and is headed to the Senate.

This bill helps ensure patients can access FDA-approved treatments faster by accelerating prior authorization, prohibiting step therapy requirements, and respecting the expertise of specialists treating these complex conditions.โ€จโ€จTY to our sponsor !

Iโ€™m proud to share that โ€” my bill to strengthen Californiaโ€™s shield laws and protect patients and providers of abortion and gender-affirming health care โ€” passed the Assembly and is headed to the Senate.

As extremist politicians across the country attempt to criminalize legally protected health care, California must continue standing firmly on the side of patients, families, providers, and the rule of law. This bill helps protect sensitive patient information from politically motivated attacks and invasions of privacy.

Excited to share that my bill โ€” Alternatives to Arrest โ€” passed the Assembly today and is headed to the Senate.โ€จ
This bill helps connect people experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, and substance use disorders with services and support instead of cycling them through the criminal justice system for low-level offenses.โ€จ
Public safety means addressing root causes โ€” not criminalizing poverty and crisis.

ICYMI: I was honored to accept the Jerry Sampson Memorial Award from alongside my colleague for our work to help combat antisemitism in schools.โ€จ
Every student deserves to feel safe, supported, and welcome in the classroom โ€” Jewish students, LGBTQ+ students, ALL students.โ€จ
Thank you to my staff, my colleagues in the , Jewish California and everyone who shared their stories and experiences to help move this work forward.

Proud to share that my bill , strengthening retirement security for part-time community college faculty, has passed the Assembly Floor and is headed to the Senate.โ€จ
Part-time educators deserve clear information about their retirement options โ€” including Social Security โ€” so they can make the best decisions for their financial future.โ€จ
TY for sponsoring!

This , we honor the service members who gave their lives in defense of our country and reflect on the responsibility we carry to build a nation worthy of their sacrifice.

That means protecting democracy, defending fundamental freedoms, caring for veterans and military families, and continuing the work toward a more just, equitable, and inclusive America for everyone.
