California has long been a leader in the fight for LGBTQ+ equality, and I’m proud to serve alongside my colleagues in the California Legislative LGBTQ Caucus () as we continue that work.

Pride is a celebration of how far we’ve come—but also a reminder that our work is not finished. As attacks on LGBTQ+ people continue across the country, California will remain a place where everyone can live openly, authentically, and with dignity.

Proud to share that my bill — the Right to Human Customer Service Act — passed the Assembly and is headed to the Senate.

Technology should make our lives easier, not trap consumers in endless phone trees, AI chat loops, and hours-long hold times.

This bill establishes a simple consumer protection: the right to reach a real person when you need help, and the right to know when you’re interacting with AI instead of a human.

Proud to share that — my bill protecting Californians from bearing the rising energy costs of large-scale data centers — passed the Assembly with bipartisan support and is headed to the Senate.

As AI and data centers drive enormous new electricity demand, working families and small businesses should not be left footing the bill.

This bill helps ensure large energy users pay their fair share, protects ratepayers from cost shifts, and strengthens long-term grid reliability.

This bill helps ensure patients can access FDA-approved treatments faster by accelerating prior authorization, prohibiting step therapy requirements, and respecting the expertise of specialists treating these complex conditions.

I’m proud to share that — my bill to strengthen California’s shield laws and protect patients and providers of abortion and gender-affirming health care — passed the Assembly and is headed to the Senate.

As extremist politicians across the country attempt to criminalize legally protected health care, California must continue standing firmly on the side of patients, families, providers, and the rule of law. This bill helps protect sensitive patient information from politically motivated attacks and invasions of privacy.

This bill helps connect people experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, and substance use disorders with services and support instead of cycling them through the criminal justice system for low-level offenses.
