The California History Section embarked on a multi-year project beginning in 2023 to digitize around 400,000 film and glass negatives. We sent the negatives to a digitization vendor because there were too many fragile formats for our team to safely scan.

After we receive the digital files from the vendor, we can process the collections and upload the images into our catalog. Please stay tuned as we work our way through these new collections!
