Our fearless (Alliance for Reparations, Reconciliation and Truth) leader and ally, Don Tamaki, was featured in the New York Times. Tamaki drew parallels between the trajectory of Japanese Americans and the abuse and harm they endured in internment camps to the ongoing dehumanization and terror imposed on African Americans from slavery to Jim Crow to today. Tamaki reminds readers that anti-Black racism set the standard and created a model for discrimination that has been used against other communities of color that have since come to the US.
