Cloudy skies but at least itโs not raining today! The view from down by the American River.
Our Little Free Library is all about sharing books for all ages. We love bilingual books, and are open for donations.
Take a book that you like, leave a book if you've got some to spare, all are welcome, and all our books are free.

Thank you to whomever donated this Precalculus textbook! Since it takes up a good chunk of space in our library, I took it out to make room for other books, but would love to give it directly to anyone locally who might need it for school. If this is you, please contact the library at [email protected] and we can arrange a pick-up time!

I decided to add four new books from the ALA's Top 10 Most Challenged List for 2021 to our Little Free Library in honor of Pride Month. Since LGBTQIA content is some of the most challenged in libraries today, because certain people think it is "inappropriate" for the youth to read about gender and sexuality (as if these kids don't already know folks who are different genders and sexualities, or aren't wondering about gender and sexuality already but may not have the words for these things?), I've chosen these four but would like to add a few for younger readers as well. (Big Wig, perhaps?)
1. All Boys Arenโt Blue by George M. Johnson
2. Gender Q***r by Maia Kobabe
3. Lawn Boy by Jonathan Evison
4. This Book is Gay by Juno Dawson
If you would like to donate any LGBTQIA books that have made an impact on you or someone you love, I would love to see those books in the library, too! Thanks for your support, and Happy Pride! ๐

Today is Election Day, so don't forget to vote OR drop off your ballot at your local library or voting center by 8 PM! Polls open at 7 AM. Sacramento Public Libraries will each have a pink ballot drop-box for easy access โ plus the all-important "I Voted" stickers, too.

Happy Pride Month! Casitas Arden Little Free Library is a Read in Color library, meaning we stock diverse, inclusionary books for folks of all ages. If you have Pride themed books to share, now would be a great time to bring them over, and we will be stocking some of ALA's Most Frequently Challenged books of 2021 soon. ๐
