🔥 Important Update: Seasonal fire restrictions are now in effect for BLM-managed public lands in the Ukiah Field Office, covering Colusa, Glen, Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Napa, Solano, Sonoma, and Yolo counties. These restrictions are in place due to dry conditions and high wildland fire danger.
Restrictions include no campfires or open flames of any kind, no smoking except in enclosed vehicles or buildings, and no motorized vehicles off designated roads or trails. As always, fireworks are prohibited on all BLM lands.
Help us prevent human-caused wildfires — 95% of California wildfires are caused by people. Please plan ahead, use caution, and recreate responsibly.

🔥 Not all fire looks the same🔥
During Wildfire Preparedness Week, we’re highlighting the role prescribed fire can play in reducing wildfire risk.

Prescribed fire is one tool land managers may use to reduce hazardous fuels, support public and firefighter safety, and help maintain healthier, more resilient landscapes.

These projects are carefully planned, reviewed and carried out by trained fire personnel when weather, vegetation and safety conditions are appropriate.

🌲🔥 One Less Spark Can Mean One Less Wildfire! 🔥🌲

During Wildfire Preparedness Week, we want to remind everyone that many wildfires start from everyday outdoor activities. Whether it’s using equipment, towing vehicles, or burning debris, a little caution can go a long way!

Before you head outdoors, please remember to:

Check local fire restrictions.
Avoid using powered equipment on hot or windy days.
Ensure your vehicles and trailers are well-maintained.
Secure trailer chains and avoid dragging anything that could create sparks.

By taking these simple steps, we can all help reduce wildfire risks and keep our communities, public lands, and fire personnel safer.

🌲🔥 It's Wildfire Preparedness Week! Let's focus on a vital aspect of wildfire safety: Defensible Space! 🏡✨

Defensible space is crucial for your home’s wildfire safety. It’s the buffer zone you create between your property and the surrounding wildland area. This space is key to slowing or stopping wildfire spread and protecting your home from embers, flames, or heat. It also gives firefighters a safer area to defend your property.

Make sure to maintain at least 100 feet of clearance around your home using fire-resistant materials and keeping your yard tidy.

Stay informed and proactive! For more tips on how to prepare your home's wildfire safety buffer visit: https://ow.ly/u5xl50YS4NQ
