WARNING! If you are a union member who believes in solidarity, no politics, union members priority and family your at the right spot. No Politics!
Union Misfits is a collective of union members who have been discriminated against, treated unfairly, tired of the union politics, and just out right tired of how the union is ran. Union Misfits was formed in 2014 when an employee in California, who is an advocate for disability rights and an educator of the Americans with Disability Act, was denied stewardship by a CWA local president for being d
isabled. The CWA slogan, “An injury to one is an injury to all,” is false. Founding history:
How did the district and national handle the case for discrimination to a disabled union member? They handled it like our government politicians of today by giving the president a raise into district. With a wave of complaints of dishonesty and mistreatment of union members by the local president, a movement started. Members started an investigation into the president and board members, and were astonished by what they found. The local president was never seen and only had the local office open for a couple of hours a week. The president also cut union meetings down to 6 a year. It was also discovered that between 2009 and 2014, the president received a $22,000+ raise in pay. There is an open EEOC complaint against the president for discrimination that has now moved to district at the San Francisco office. As long as these leaders are being protected without consequences, we, The Union Misfits, will continue to grow. Present time:
The Union Misfits are a growing movement that all can join. We will research and track our district and national leaders and share what we learn. We want to put a STOP to giving our union dues to corrupt politicians and political parties. Over the decade, $21 million dollars of hard working union member’s dues have gone to corrupt politicians. That $21 million dollars could have gone to union member’s children in school grants, medical and natural disaster hardships for union members, and towards changing the ridiculous strike fund that literally does nothing for the family during strike times.
