Scammers are impersonating the California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO‑Biz) in an attempt to defraud businesses and community members. One of the most common red flags is the use of a fraudulent email address, such as [email protected].
Official GO‑Biz communications always come from .ca.gov email addresses. We will never ask for gift cards or payment to participate in surveys, and we will never request payment from our social media accounts. GO-Biz will never call, email, or text you to demand payment or request personal information.
If you receive a suspicious message, contact us directly through the official GO‑Biz website or by using the phone number listed there. Verifying first protects you—and helps us stop these scams.
