After our board meeting, we took a moment to appreciate our new energy-efficient lights—made possible through the SHINE Award from SMUD. These upgrades will help lower energy costs for LLACE while supporting a more sustainable future for our community.

Happy July library friends! Beat the Sacramento heat and come hang out at the library this month 📚. We have an author reading with Verde Arzu who will be reading their book 'Promise Keeper,' our regular book clubs, and discussion groups! Can't wait to see you around 💜.

This Big Day of Giving, 161 donors came together and raised $10,250 for the Lavender Library! 🎉 Because of you, LLACE will soon be launching a FREE membership tier. While our community events have always been and remain free, money will no longer be a requirement to check out books and media from our collection. Every donation, ever share, and every every comment helped us get here!!

But the cherry on top? 🍒 We blew past what we needed to launch our free membership tier. Raising just under $10,000 (and counting!), LLACE will be able to cover our operating costs through Pride Month.

Every single donation received sent a clear message: q***r people, spaces, and stories are valued in Sacramento. Thank you for showing up, and we hope to see you soon at the Library! 💜
