We are saddened by the loss of Dr. William Burke, a man whose legendary generosity was matched only by his love for family. Dr. Burke devoted his life to enriching the economic position of the minority communities and this remains a shared principle for this Caucus.

A trailblazer for environmental justice, Dr. Burke spent his career fighting to be a voice of the unheard, so that all people have the opportunity to breathe clean air. For Burke, one simple fact always prevailed: clean air is a right, not a privilege.

Our loving thoughts are with the Burke family and we thank you for sharing him with us.
