The Republican presidential candidates are at the Reagan Library tonight for their debate at 5:00 on MSNBC. First debate that Rick Perry will participate in. (Assuming those Texas wildfires don't keep him at home.)

Anyone still have that election season spirit? Tim Pawlenty apparently does as he has just announced his formation of an exploratory committee to run for president in 2012.

As we move past Ronald Reagan's centennial birthday, let us ponder a notion that is quite Reaganesque: A recession is when your neighbor loses his job. A depression is when you lose yours. And a recovery is when President Obama loses his. The race to 2012 will soon begin!

We are working on getting a room and time for this semester, and should have one next week. We have a dense layer of unnecessary of bureaucracy to deal with, paperwork and signatures and "processing." But such is the life of a Republican....
