This month is an opportunity to celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, and history that continue to help shape our communities and strengthen the diverse state we proudly serve.

The California Highway Patrol will be onsite providing professional car seat safety inspections to ensure your child’s seat is properly installed and meets current safety standards.

From sharing safety tips to taking photos with future junior officers, we had a great time connecting with the amazing community we serve and protect.

It is with profound sorrow that the California Highway Patrol announces the line-of-duty death of Officer Miguel Cano, ID 23555.

In the early morning hours of July 2, 2025, at approximately 0028 hours, Officer Cano, faithfully serving the West Los Angeles Area, suffered a suspected medical emergency while on patrol. Tragically, his vehicle left the roadway and collided with a tree.

Emergency personnel responded without delay, and Officer Cano was transported to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. Despite exhaustive life-saving measures, he was pronounced deceased at 0140 hours.

Officer Cano was a dedicated public servant who embodied the values of courage, commitment, and compassion. His service to the people of California will never be forgotten.

He is survived by his loving wife and devoted parents. The California Highway Patrol offers its deepest condolences to Officer Cano’s family, friends, and fellow officers. We honor the legacy of a hero who gave his all in service to others.
