: California State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond and the CDE partnered with the nonprofit SupplyBank.org to collect and distribute donations and emergency resources to school communities that experience situations such as the chemical storage tank emergency in , especially for homeless students or students and families displaced due to the evacuation order. These contributions can cover hotel costs, along with gas cards, food, water, clothing, and school supplies.

☀️🍉Great news, California! The SUN Bucks food program is renewed for Summer 2026! 😋

More than 3.5 million eligible California children will automatically receive SUN Bucks EBT cards that can be used to purchase groceries starting in June, and each eligible child will receive $120. Eligible children who are not automatically enrolled will need to apply through their school to get benefits.
