Thank you to the city managers and management staff from across Los Angeles County who joined us for the Los Angeles County Division’s 2026 Countywide City Managers Meeting.

Attendees received important updates and insights on key regional and statewide issues impacting our cities, including Cal Cities’ strategies & priorities, a S**G regional update, the growing sports economy in Los Angeles County, and data centers & California electricity policy.

Thank you to City of Lakewood and Ulises Cabrera for providing lead testimony in support of a League of California Cities sponsored bill AB 1708 (Solache) before the Assembly Human Services Committee. AB 1708 seeks to increase access to Homeless Housing Assistance and Prevention (HHAP) funding for cities with populations under 300,000.

Thank you to City of Bellflower - Local Government Mayor Sonny R. Santa Ines and City of Paramount Council Member Peggy Lemons for providing lead testimony in support of a League of California Cities sponsored bill AB 1708 (Solache) before the Assembly Housing and Community Development Committee. AB 1708 would help ensure that communities of all sizes have a meaningful role in the state’s homelessness response efforts.

Thank you to Los Angeles County Office of Protocol and Supervisor Hilda L. Solis for partnering with the Los Angeles County Division to host the Government Connections Networking Seminar.

This event directly reflects one of the Division’s 2026 Strategic Priorities, including supporting partnerships and communication that encourage community engagement, economic development, and safe transportation for LA28 and other major events.

Thank you to the city officials and city staff who joined us and advanced our collective understanding of preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
