Connecting at the Disabled Veterans Resource Fair in San Diego

It was an honor to meet with veterans, military families, and community partners at San Diego County Assessor Jordan Marks’ Veterans Resource Fair. Treasurer Fiona Ma spoke at the event, highlighting the many state programs available to support veterans and their families — including tools that promote financial well‑being and access to essential resources. San Diego’s strong and vibrant veteran community continues to inspire us with its dedication and service.

CalABLE was proud to share how our tax advantaged program can help veterans with disabilities build financial security and save for the future. Events like this remind us how important it is to ensure every veteran has access to the tools and resources they deserve.

Exciting news for CalABLE cardholders!

Your CalABLE Prepaid Card can now be added to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet—making everyday purchases even easier.

With your card in your digital wallet, you can:
• Make secure, contactless payments with your phone or smartwatch
• Add your card to multiple devices
• Keep your existing spending settings and controls
• Trust that if your card is paused, lost, or stolen, it immediately stops working in your digital wallets too

This update brings more convenience and flexibility while keeping the same safeguards you rely on.

Save Without Sacrifice!

Big changes are coming to Medi-Cal in 2027, with asset limits dropping from $130,000 to $21,000 for individuals and from $195,000 to $31,000 for couples.

California State Treasurer Fiona Ma is urging Californians with disabilities and their families to prepare now. Through California ABLE Act Board (CalABLE), eligible individuals can save and invest for their futures without sacrificing access to essential health care and public benefits.
