Breast cancer doesn’t discriminate. But survival rates tell a different story.

Black women are diagnosed with breast cancer at slightly lower rates than white women, yet they are approximately 40% more likely to die from the disease.

Let that sink in.

Behind these statistics are mothers, daughters, sisters, friends, and loved ones whose lives matter.

The disparity isn’t just about breast cancer. It’s about unequal access to quality healthcare, delayed diagnoses, aggressive forms of the disease, and systemic barriers that too often stand between Black women and lifesaving care.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re turning awareness into action.

**Know your family history and personal risk.
**Talk to your healthcare provider about when to begin screening.
**Advocate for yourself. Your concerns deserve to be heard.
**Encourage the women in your life to prioritize their breast health.

At the California Black Health Network, we believe every woman deserves access to early detection, quality treatment, and the opportunity to survive and thrive.

Because awareness matters. Early detection matters. And equitable healthcare saves lives.
