Yesterday, our Executive Director David Teykaerts testified on behalf of AB 2650 (Pellerin) in Senate Committee on Labor, Public Employment and Retirement.

AB 2650 would strengthen CalSavers by:
- Clarifying program eligibility requirements.
- Creating a pathway for the program to receive eligible federal funding and cutting red tape for participants.
- Allowing CalSavers to explore multi-state and regional partnerships.

Thank you to Assemblymember Gail Pellerin for their leadership in championing this bill.

Legislative Update: AB 2650 (Pellerin)

AB 2650 would strengthen CalSavers by:

- Clarifying program eligibility requirements.
- Creating a pathway for the program to receive eligible federal funding and cutting red tape for participants.
- Allowing CalSavers to explore multi-state and regional partnerships.

The bill has passed the Assembly and is now under consideration in the Senate.

Lower fees = more savings. Starting today, CalSavers cuts its annual fixed fee to $14 (down from $17). Asset-based fees also go down from 0.25% to 0.15%. Go paperless to avoid fees for statements and disclosures. Learn more: CalSavers.com

Today is Teach Children to Save Day! When we teach children to save, we show them their dreams are within reach.

The State Treasurer’s Office Financial Security For All collective has programs ensure that Californians can build savings at every stage of their life. These include CalKIDS Program, ScholarShare 529, California ABLE Act Board, HOPE For Children Trust Account Program, and CalSavers.
