🧠💜 June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Health Awareness Month.

One of the greatest barriers to care is the stigma that often surrounds a dementia diagnosis. By talking openly about Alzheimer’s this June, we can create a more inclusive California where people feel safe seeking help at the first sign of memory loss. Increasing public understanding helps replace fear with empowerment, ensuring that those affected remain active, respected members of our communities. 🗣️

🔥 Wildfire Disaster Scams Targeting Older Adults

Scammers take advantage of disasters like wildfires to steal from older adults. Watch out for:
❌ Fake Charity Calls – Only donate to verified organizations.
❌ Contractor Fraud – Never pay upfront for repairs without checking credentials.
❌ Government Impersonators – Officials won’t call asking for payments or personal info.

Azusa is a diverse community, but for many Chinese-speaking older adults, language barriers previously made it difficult to stay connected. To change that, the City of Azusa took action by providing essential materials and hosting listening sessions in Chinese. They’ve ensured that more neighbors are heard and included in future planning.
