This Pride Month, we’re celebrating the rich LGBTQ+ history that calls Oakland, Alameda, and Emeryville home. 🏳️🌈
From striking down discrimination in the California Supreme Court to trailblazing in baseball, music, and film, and to our community centers and cultural districts serving the community now, pride has always been part of the AD-18 story.

Great to be among friends and family at the Capitol this week in celebration and reverence of Juneteenth. Those closest to us have a special way of igniting our fight and reminding us why our efforts for justice are so important.

The World Cup is here! ⚽🌎
Fútbol has shaped my life and my family’s, and I couldn’t be more excited to have the world’s game right in our backyard. From the Australian Socceroos setting up camp in Alameda, to matches played across the Bay, to fans traveling from every corner of the globe, California is hosting the world.
This is teamwork at its finest. And teamwork like this is California at its best: welcoming, diverse, world-class, and proud. 🌉
