What I know… when trouble and strife like this hits our community, in particular, we put our heads together and become a power to be reckoned with. So let’s find ways to bond, to plot, to plan and build a system that is unbreakable. What do we need to join, how do we connect and build a California that cannot be broken and keep all our people safe.

I have posted this before, but today it seems important to share again:

This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailment and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.

I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community, and as long as I live it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can.

I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no “brief candle” for me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on future generations.

There is some real bad policy going on in Rocklin Unified School District. The California Department of Education filed a writ of mandate against the district in April requiring that RUSD revoke the parental notification policy board members passed last fall. The policy requires school staff to inform a student’s parents if a student requests to go by a name or pronoun that is not aligned with their biological s*x.

If you feel that students have a right to proclaim their own pronouns and be called by a different name at school then let the school board know.

The RUSD is hiring a right wing group to fight the mandate.

This is happening right here! Taking away students rights.
