Here is the most current information regarding processing times for applications at the Board of Psychology.
The California Board of Psychology licenses psychologists and psychological associates Each member may serve a maximum of two terms.

The Board of Psychology is one of 30 regulatory entities which fall under the organizational structure of the Department of Consumer Affairs. Here is the most current information regarding processing times for applications at the Board of Psychology.
The Board will meet at the Wright Institute in Berkeley on Friday, May 15, at 9 a.m.
Topics for discussion and possible action include: updates on legislation, regulatory packages, the development of the Integrated Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (Integrated EPPP), and the update to the American Psychological Association (APA) Model Act. Attending the meeting will earn Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credit under CPD Category #1 - Attendance at a California Board of Psychology Meeting.
In April, the Board initially posted rulemaking documents on its website regarding Disciplinary Guidelines and Uniform Standards Related to Substance-Abusing Licensees. The Board later determined the "Disciplinary Guidelines Incorporated by Reference" document was inadvertently omitted during this process. That document is now posted on our website.

• Notice of Extension of Public Comment Period for Proposed Regulatory Action
The public comment period is extended until June 16, 2026, to allow the public to have the appropriate amount of time to review the amendments to the regulation and to address the oversight. The Board is recruiting Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to participate in 2 remote workshops and 5 in-person workshops for the fiscal year 2026-2027. The workshops are for the purpose of:
• Development of the California Psychology Law and Ethics Examination (CPLEE)
All licensed psychologists, including those licensed less than 5 years, are encouraged to apply. Selected SMEs will receive a $300 per full day honorarium, may earn CPD credits, and may be reimbursed on eligible travel expenses.
Application Deadline: May 30, 2026, or as soon as possible.

The Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Committee of the Board of Psychology will meet on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 9 a.m. via WebEx.
Agenda topics include a review of legislation from the 2026 Legislative Session, updates on regulatory packages, and a discussion of the American Psychological Association (APA) Model Act.
