Our first citrus event of the season was a great success! Thanks to the more than 70 volunteers who joined us in Tahoe Park, we were able to harvest over 3800 pounds of citrus from 22 neighborhood homes! Included were navel and valencia oranges, meyer and eureka lemons, yellow and pink grapefruit and tangelos. 2100lbs went to Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services, 1400 pounds went home with residents and volunteers, and 300 pounds went to other food access organizations! One of the best things about Tahoe Park is the amount of space there is to exercise and get fit! Not to mention there is an amazing pool to do lap swimming in. Time to get ready for summer! ;D
