🚨 COMMUNITY ACTION NEEDED 🚨

The City of Sacramento is considering changes to the Youth, Parks, & Community Enrichment (YPCE) fee waiver program that could significantly impact community-based organizations like Iu Mien Community Services.

For our Healthy Village Senior Program, this proposal could result in an additional $16,000 annual cost to continue providing services at George Sim Community Center.

Our seniors rely on this program every week for:
❤️ Mental health support
🤝 Social connection
🏃 Wellness activities
🗣️ Services and information in their language
🏡 A safe and welcoming community space

Are you interested in media, storytelling, and Iu Mien culture?

Iu Mien Voices is a community storytelling project for Iu Mien participants ages 14–24 who want to learn media skills and create meaningful projects that highlight Iu Mien voices, culture, and experiences.

Participants will:
📸 Learn media and storytelling skills
🎙️ Share community stories
🤝 Connect with community members
💰 Receive a $250 stipend upon project completion

📅 Meets once a week (approximately 2 hours)
⏳ About 6 months
📝 Application deadline: June 15, 2026
