This past weekend, all available CHP personnel focused on one simple goal: getting impaired drivers off the road.
During the 12-hour Maximum Enforcement Period, CHP officers arrested 505 DUI drivers who chose to get behind the wheel while impaired.
This weekend was a reminder to always designate a sober driver. Choose to protect yourself and those around you and remember that a DUI costs way more than opting for a rideshare or taxi.
Thank you to everyone who made safety a priority this weekend. Let’s continue working together to keep California roads safe.

A crash at Manning and Englehart in Reedley ended with a dramatic drive-thru.
A Toyota Corolla pulled into the path of a Honda Odyssey, sending the Corolla like a missile into an unoccupied building.
Thankfully, only complaints of pain injuries were reported. Seatbelts and a whole lot of luck made all the difference.
Take your time at intersections. One rushed decision can change everything... And always wear a seatbelt.
