Meet Officer Knight, the first female CHP officer at CHP - Templeton in nearly twenty years!

Her journey reminds us that CHP officers come from diverse backgrounds, each with their own strengths, passions, and stories. Officer Knight brings all of hers with pride.

She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Education and Community Leadership from San José State University. Before attending the CHP Academy, she taught local youth through the Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County.

She also served as a Youth Choir Director and Organist, plays both piano and organ, and studied music in Guadalajara, Mexico, completing formal training in Gregorian Chant at the Diocesan Superior School of Sacred Music. She continues to share her musical talents in her free time, bringing harmony to both her community and her career.

If you see her out and about, give her a warm Templeton welcome. Bonus points if you greet her in harmony!🎶🚓

Have a great weekend, California! As summer break begins for many students, roads will be busier with families traveling and celebrating the start of vacation season.

Before heading out, make sure every passenger — young and old — is properly buckled up. Seatbelts save lives and remain one of the simplest ways to protect yourself and your loved ones on the road.

Drive safely, stay alert, and enjoy the start of summer!

Big smiles, big energy, and future leaders in the making!!

The Tim Brown Mentor Mini Football Camp at the CHP Academy gave kids a fun-filled day of learning, teamwork, mentorship, and hands-on activities alongside CHP officers and mentors.

From making new friends to building confidence, these young participants brought great attitudes and even bigger potential.

Thank you to Tim Brown and everyone else who helped create a positive and memorable experience for these amazing kids!

While patrolling the area of US-101 and Seaward Avenue, CHP - Ventura officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration.

Upon closer inspection, officers discovered the driver had taken a very “creative” approach to the vehicle’s registration tabs. Unfortunately, artistic ability does not replace valid registration.

The vehicle was impounded.

Avoid the costly consequences, keep your registration current, and your vehicle in compliance before hitting the road.

This holiday weekend, our officers focused on one simple goal: saving lives through seat belt safety.

During the Holiday Enforcement Period, CHP officers issued 2,172 seat belt citations to drivers and passengers who chose not to buckle up. While citations are never the goal, every stop was an opportunity to prevent a tragedy.

Seat belts remain one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect yourself and your loved ones on the road. No matter how short the trip is, buckle up every time.

Thank you to everyone who made safety a priority this holiday weekend. Let’s continue working together to keep California roads safe.

A goodnight hug. A phone call home. Family dinners. Weekend plans. The people or pets waiting for you to make it back safely.

A seat belt may seem small, but it can make the difference between life and death in a crash. Before you drive, take a second to protect what matters most.

Buckle up. Every ride. Every time.

Sometimes heroes wear a uniform both on and off duty.

The California Highway Patrol in Porterville recently recognized Officer T. Sanders for donating bone marrow to a woman battling leukemia after being identified as her closest genetic match through the National Marrow Donor Program.

Officer Sanders’ selfless decision gave someone a second chance at life and reflects the compassion and integrity he brings to work every day.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Wishing both Officer Sanders and the recipient a full and speedy recovery!
