It's National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week! ๐Ÿ’ก Check out our youth participants sharing their perceptions and facts they've learned about substance use in our leadership programs. We're committed to spreading awareness and educating youth by offering tools to decrease risk factors and increase protective factors related to substance use! ๐Ÿ™

๐Ÿ“ฃ WEโ€™RE HIRING! ๐Ÿ“ฃ PRO Youth & Families is looking for an individual 18 to 26 years old to participate as a part-time fellow with Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) for one full year! In this fellowship, youโ€™ll provide valuable insight into the needs of students and ensuring that their voices are heard within the educational system.

You will be required to work within a SCOE program in the SCOE offices and at school sites. Salary is $20 per hour.

Yesterday, March 14th, we attended the annual Sacramento County Prevention Summit! We connected with prevention partners and local organizations, shared our programs and resources, and learned from experts in this field. Our Chief Collaboration Officer, Rachel Minnick, held a workshop on the Youth & Family Collective, and shared their mission, work, and impact. ๐Ÿ‘

Let's continue prevention work and positively impacting the youth we serve! Thank you to our prevention partners from Sacramento County - Government who made this summit possible. ๐Ÿ’

On Friday, March 1, PRO Youth Program Coordinators attended Luther Burbank High School's Black Family Night, where they shared PRO Youth programs and resources, highlighted Black history in advocacy through a poster board, and provided fun trivia on Black love. This event was done as part of Black History Month, and we're so happy to have attended, supported, and tabled! ๐Ÿ–คโค๏ธ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›

As a Program Coordinator, youโ€™ll facilitate multiple evidence-based curriculums related to teen pregnancy prevention, substance use prevention, and mental health topics for youth ages 11 to 24 in the Greater Sacramento region. You will also work closely with at-risk youth communities and foster a safe space for challenging discussions, including sexual health, healthy and unhealthy relationships, decision-making, and expectations.
