CalVet's Women Veterans and Minority and Underrepresented Veterans divisions were honored to attend and provide remarks at the Black History Month Celebration recognizing the service, leadership, and enduring legacy of Black military women and veterans to our nation.
Hosted by the Los Angeles Chapter of the National Association of Black Military Women and the historic Jackie Robinson American Legion Post 252 and Auxiliary, the celebration reflected the strength, excellence, and deep sense of community that define this space. We shared our deep commitment and gratitude for Black military women trailblazers, from the women of the 6888th to the leaders among us today.
Together, we continue building a veteran community rooted in respect, connection, and shared history.

Tasked with clearing a massive backlog of mail for U.S. troops, the “Six Triple Eight” worked tirelessly under the motto “No Mail, Low Morale,” ensuring soldiers stayed connected to loved ones. Their service broke barriers and exemplified courage and dedication.
