π¨πβ€οΈ EMS WEEK 2026 β€οΈππ¨
May 17 β May 23
This EMS Week, the Sacramento Regional Fire/EMS Communications Center proudly recognizes the dedicated dispatchers, firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, and first responders who serve our communities every single day.
Behind every emergency response is a team working together β from the first 911 call to patient care on scene. Our dispatchers remain a vital link in the EMS Chain of Survival, providing calm, coordination, and lifesaving support when seconds matter most.
We invite our allied agencies and regional public safety partners to join us in celebrating the professionals behind the headset, behind the radio, and on the front lines.
π Throughout EMS Week, we welcome our partner agencies to stop by the Communications Center to connect with our team, show support, and help recognize the incredible work being done throughout our region.
Thank you to all those who answer the call to serve. π₯π§ππ

Today, we celebrate all mothers β especially the incredible mothers within our communications center who balance the demanding role of dispatcher and parent every single day. ππ§ππ
Behind every headset is a dedicated professional providing calm during emergencies, coordinating lifesaving resources, and helping keep the Sacramento community safe β all while also being caring mothers, role models, and the heart of their families at home.
To the moms working holidays, late nights, weekends, and long shifts so others can receive help when they need it most: thank you for your strength, compassion, and sacrifice.
Your commitment to both your families and your community does not go unnoticed.
From all of us at the Sacramento Regional Fire/EMS Communications Center β Happy Motherβs Day to all the amazing moms in dispatch and throughout our community. β€οΈπΉ

π₯ Although recent rain has helped temporarily reduce fire danger, Sacramento County has officially entered wildland fire season effective May 1st.
As vegetation begins to dry and temperatures rise, you may notice a larger response to vegetation and grass fires throughout the region. These incidents often require additional resources to protect lives, property, and surrounding communities.
Our dispatchers remain ready 24/7 to coordinate emergency response when every second matters.
Please continue to practice fire safety and stay aware as conditions can change quickly.
π Here when you need us. Every call. Every day.

Today, we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through service.
At SRFECC, service means answering every call with care, professionalism, and compassion. It means being a steady voice in uncertain moments and helping connect Sacramento County residents with the help they need, when they need it most.
Service doesnβt always happen in front of an audience. It happens in everyday choices, in moments of patience, kindness, and responsibility. Whether itβs serving behind a headset, supporting a neighbor, or showing up for your community in small but meaningful ways, each act of service helps move us forward together.
